At Battle Ground Academy, relationships are at the heart of student growth. Beginning in Middle School and continuing through graduation, every student is part of our Advisory Program, a consistent space where they’re known by name, seen for who they are, and supported as they grow.
Advisory groups, organized by grade level and typically made up of 10-12 students, meet weekly with a faculty advisor who serves as a trusted advocate, encouraging mentor, and primary point of contact for families. Through conversations, group activities, and shared experiences, students build meaningful relationships with peers and adults who are there to guide and champion them every step of the way.
More than a meeting on the calendar, Advisory is a foundational part of how students experience life at BGA. Our program helps students build self-awareness, practice empathy, and grow into confident, authentic leaders ready to thrive in school and in life.
Advisors help students:
- Foster belonging and community through thoughtful dialogue and shared activities.
- Monitor academic progress and help navigate challenges with resilience and integrity.
- Encourage participation in school life, including clubs, sports, arts, and service.
- Discover and develop their strengths and passions.
- Serve others through group-led community engagement.
Advisors also communicate regularly with teachers, coaches, and families to ensure students are thriving in all aspects of school life. They’re often the first point of contact for questions, celebrations, or concerns.
