The Campaign for Battle Ground Academy

In September 2019, Battle Ground Academy announced Creating Our Future: The Campaign for Battle Ground Academy, a $24 million comprehensive capital campaign to build the Center for Arts and Entrepreneurship, enhance the Lower School, renovate spaces on the Middle and Upper School campus, and increase the school’s endowment.

Creating Our Future will help affect every student in this school and will allow BGA to complete the original vision of the Glen Echo campus while creating new opportunities in all three divisions.  This capital campaign will change each student’s experience at BGA.

List of 3 frequently asked questions.

  • What's the difference between the BGA Fund and the Campaign for Battle Ground Academy?

The BGA Fund supports the school's annual operating expenses. It is something the school raises money for every year. The Campaign is a special effort that will fund the four initiatives identified by the Administration and the Board of Trustees: the Center for Arts & Entrepreneurship; enhancements to the Harpeth campus; renovations to the Glen Echo campus; and the Endowment. These four projects will be funded outside of the school's operating budget.
  • Should I wait to make my BGA Fund gift?

Gifts made to the BGA Fund are used immediately for the purpose designated by the donor, so please do not wait to make your gift. Over the next year, families, alumni, and others will be asked to make multi-year pledges to the Campaign for Battle Ground Academy. Donors will be encouraged to maintain their level of giving to the BGA Fund while considering their commitment to the Campaign.
  • How are families making gifts to the Campaign for Battle Ground Academy?

Raising $24 million requires tremendous generosity from our alumni, parents, and friends of the school.  It also requires gifts of all sizes.  To allow families to maximize what they are able to consider, contributions to Creating Our Future may be spread over a multi-year period.  Donors of $25,000 or more may direct their gift to any one of the Campaign's initiatives or leave it unrestricted.  Gifts less than $25,000 will be counted as unrestricted per a resolution of the Board of Trustees.
