Since its founding in 1889, there has been a culture of giving at Battle Ground Academy and valuing the importance of education for young people. BGA's first donors were members of the Franklin community who recognized the need for a college preparatory school in a town that was still recovering from the Battle of Franklin in 1864. Over time, financial support for the Academy has grown from just a few to an extended community that includes alumni, current parents, trustees, faculty, grandparents, parents of alumni, businesses, and local leaders. Their donations, regardless of amount, sustain our mission and provide our students with the tools to succeed while at BGA and long after they leave our halls.
