Additional Information
Character. Scholarship. Excellence.
If you want to have an impact today on the education of a BGA student,
consider making a gift to the BGA Fund.
Since its founding in 1889, there has been a culture of giving at Battle Ground Academy and valuing the importance of education for young people.  BGA's first donors were members of the Franklin community who recognized the need for a college preparatory school in a town that was still recovering from the Battle of Franklin in 1864.  Over time, support for the Academy has grown from just a few to an extended community that includes alumni, current parents, trustees, faculty, grandparents, parents of alumni, businesses, and local leaders.

BGA alumni and parents have donated money, time, treasure and talent to make BGA exceptional and the premier K-12 school in Williamson County. Your support today shows your belief in BGA’s mission to ignite and nurture student curiosity, intellect, and character.

Why Annual Giving Matters
Annual Fund gifts can be spent as they come in, creating opportunities for learning and discovery and giving BGA the flexibility to take advantage of emerging opportunities and to respond to unanticipated needs and challenges. They also provide our Head of School with resources to plan for BGA’s future.

Why Give to BGA?
Your gift to BGA helps us teach and provide exceptional young people the tools succeed in school and contribute to the bigger society as good citizens.  Your gifts help students aspire to make the world a better place, knowing that they have a community of supporters behind them all the way.

The BGA Fund provides a means by which we help deliver the transformative experience everyone wants and expects for our students. To cover items currently paid for by the BGA Fund, tuition in 2018-20119 would need to increase approximately $774 per student. Tuition increases are not tax deductible, but charitable donations are.

Leading by Example
BGA's Board of Trustees is committed to ensuring that BGA has the financial resources necessary to be a truly great independent school. Each year, 100% of the Trustees contribute to The BGA Fund.

Participation Matters
Gifts of every size are important to enhancing the BGA student experience.  Last year, BGA Fund Gifts of $500 or less made up 76% of the gifts received and had a direct and immediate impact on students and faculty.

Giving Priorities

The BGA Fund is our highest philanthropic priority each year and we ask our current parents to make it theirs as well. Occasionally we will identify capital projects and fund those projects through special capital fundraising efforts.  In addition, the school builds it's long term financial stability through the endowment and planned gifts.  Please click on the links below to learn more about each initiative.
Thank you for considering a gift to BGA.  We realize that philanthropy is a choice and we want our donors to know that their gifts are critical to the success of our students and teachers and are appreciated by all of us at the school.
Battle Ground Academy’s mission is to ignite and nurture
student curiosity, intellect, and character.
