MS Students are Resourceful in Supporting the Ms. Cheap Penny Dive
BGA Middle School students are displaying imagination and ingenuity in raising money for Ms. Cheap's Penny Drive for Second Harvest Food Bank. BGA brothers Spencer Artrip '26 and Jackson Artrip '24 took leftover Halloween candy to their mom's office where her co-workers were invited to make a donation to the penny drive in exchange for the candy. Visit The Tennessean to read about the Artrips' project supporting Ms. Cheap's Penny Drive.
Other student-led fundraisers for the penny drive and Second Harvest include a gift wrapping service offered by Isabella Besco '25 with donations going to the penny drive. A Christmas-themed bake sale called Perfectly Sweet is scheduled for December 10 and is being organized by 7th graders Ava Graddy, Lexi Topping, Sophia Schultenover, Maddie Hill, Laurel Phelps, Shea Hollis, Ella McLay, Abby McLay, Blythe Dillard, Lucy Childs, and Evangelene Gallimore.
In 2017, BGA's middle school collected over $1500 and provided 9,003 meals for Second Harvest Food Bank.
