Character. Scholarship. Excellence.
My experiences with BGA Fine Arts define the best parts of my childhood, as it was through choir and theater that I found my most favorite self.  Creative expression for a child is such a needed gift, and the faculty at BGA nurtured this expression into a deep, joyful love or music that has carried into adulthood.

Beginning in Kindergarten BGA students are given the opportunity to perform in front of their peers and develop self-confidence and other important life skills.   With offerings in Band, Choir, Dance and Theatre, BGA’s Arts Department provides students of all talents and levels of interest the chance to explore the performing arts.

Middle and Upper School choirs participate and audition for numerous festival and state competitions.  The Lower School music program in recent years has culminated with a trip to Nashville’s Music Row to produce a piece written and performed by the Fourth Grade.

Traditional concert band classes exist for Middle and Upper School students. In the two divisions, students may explore additional avenues of music through the Vanguard rock group (Middle School) and contemporary music ensemble classes (Upper School).

In the Lower School each grade puts on an assembly for the rest of the division and families.  Middle and Upper School students have theatre classes beginning in Seventh Grade.  Working collaboratively, students create, write and perform their own works.  Each year, the Middle School presents Fall and Spring plays while the Upper School presents a play in the Fall and a musical in the Spring.

Students in Seventh through Twelfth Grade may also take dance classes and participate in the Middle or Upper School Dance teams respectively.
