Character. Scholarship. Excellence.
With nearly 3,400 members worldwide, the BGA Alumni Association is a diverse community of individuals who are connected by their shared experience of attending Battle Ground Academy. Drawing our members from this remarkable group, the Alumni Association Board of Directors is an organization that strives to foster deep and lasting relationships among the many former students of BGA and between the school and alumni body.

Welcome BGA Alumni!

Dear Fellow Alumni!

Welcome to our Alumni page!  I am thrilled to serve and represent you as President of the 2018-2019 Alumni Board.  This year’s board will bring a new energy and new ideas to our beloved Academy. Our members represent six decades of alums, from the 1960’s through our most current graduates.  I have now seen BGA through the eyes of a student, alum, and parent.  Honoring BGA’s traditions while participating in its growth and evolution as a school brings me some of my life’s greatest joys.

This year, the Alumni Board plans to bring you more opportunities to connect with generations of Wildcats, using multiple platforms.  We are kicking off the new school year with a renewed focus on bringing alumni home to BGA, and not just at Homecoming or Reunion Weekend.  Last year, we launched the first-ever online Alumni networking and information platform—BGA Connects, where alumni can post job listings, interact with other Wildcats around the world, and stay informed of BGA happenings and events. We also hosted networking events where BGA alums could learn more about industries of their interest or just make a new connection.  The addition of alumni events in major cities across the country has allowed Wildcats to find and meet others who live and work in their community.

As ambassadors of the school, the Alumni Board is responsible for facilitating gifts to and growing the BGA Fund.  This ongoing giving campaign provides the funds that fill the gap between student tuition and the full cost of educating future alumni. The BGA Fund is our most important philanthropic endeavor, and the fund supports all aspects of the Academy that we loved when we were students. Ultimately, the BGA Fund ensures that the school can continue its mission to ignite and nurture student curiosity, intellect, and character.  Contributions for the 2017-2018 school year went to updates the school’s security measures that were widely supported by parents and the BGA community.

We invite all alumni to return to campus for Homecoming weekend (October 4-6, 2018). This year, we will kick off the festivities with a bonfire on October 4, the pre-party of the year at the Fleming House before the Homecoming game on October 5 and conclude with the always enjoyable Alumni Hall of Fame Induction and Brunch on October 6.  Please check out the website for details and registration.

I also hope you will return to campus in the Spring during Reunion Weekend (May 3-4, 2019).  Class years ending in four (4) and nine (9) will celebrate reunions this year, and there will be all-alumni events as well.  Stay tuned for details and make your travel plans early.  We’re already looking forward to a fantastic spring weekend with everyone.

On May 30, 2019, we will hold our annual BGA Golf Classic, our largest fund-raising event, which benefits the Alumni Scholarship Fund.  This event is popular among skilled and awful golfers alike, with plenty of great food, prizes, socializing and laughs.

If you have any questions about (1) ways to give; (2) how to help in fundraising; (3) how to become more involved with BGA alumni activities; or (4) how to become more involved with campus activities, please feel free to reach out to me (crwalker511@gmail.com ) or Kristin Napier (krisin.napier@mybga.org).  We also welcome ideas for future alumni events and ways to improve our connection with all of you.

Wishing all the best for you and best for the Academy,
