  • Artist Guild

    A group honoring and recognizing excellence in the arts in the fields of dance, drama, vocal and instrumental music, visual art, literature and songwriting. Members perform in two events: a parents' night exhibition and a performance in assembly. Guild combines a variety of talent in all areas of artistic ability and allows students and faculty to experience BGA's best in art. Membership in the BGA Artist Guild is chosen through a comprehensive audition process.
  • Cum Laude Society

    This national academic honor society established in 1906 honors academic excellence and scholarship. At Battle Ground Academy, membership is limited to 20% of each class with 10% elected as juniors and 10% elected as seniors.
  • Digamma

    Digamma is an in-school honor society. Members are BGA students who are sophomores, juniors or seniors having an honors cumulative academic GPA of 3.1. These students have no grade below 87 for the previous semester in any academic subject, have been enrolled in BGA for two full semesters, and have had no honor offenses in which their grades profited or could have profited. Digamma members are not required to attend study hall.
  • Honor Council

    The Honor Council is composed of 6 seniors, 4 juniors, and 2 sophomores with a gender balance throughout. Thesestudents are elected by their classmates and approved by theUpper School Faculty and the Division Head. They are chosen on the basis of character and leadership skills. The council meets if there is a violation of the honor code; it reviews cases and advises the administration on a course of action. The Honor Council is instrumental in preserving the principles of integrity that form the honor code.
  • Mu Alpha Theta

    An organization designed to stimulate interest in math by providing public recognition of superior math scholarship. Eligible students must have completed two semesters of math and be currently enrolled in a math honors course. They must maintain a yearly average of 83% or above; students in their junior or senior year who are enrolled in a non-honors course and have an average of 92% or above also qualify.
  • National Junior Classic League

    Formed in 1936, the National Junior Classical League (NJCL) is an organization of junior and senior high school students sponsored by the American Classical League. Composed of local and state/provincial chapters across the United States, Canada, and Australia, it is the largest Classical organization in the world today with over 50,000 members. Its purpose is to encourage an interest in and an appreciation of the language, literature and culture of ancient Greece and Rome and to impart an understanding of the debt of our own culture to that of Classical antiquity. All members must have previously earned at least two years of credit in Latin or Greek or be currently enrolled in a classics course.
  • National Honor Society

    An Upper School society in which membership is based on outstanding scholarship, leadership, character and service.
  • National Speech and Debate

    The National Speech & Debate Association’s honor society recognizes high school students for their participation in speech and debate activities. Students earn distinction through speech and debate competition, as well community service, public speaking, and leadership activities. Members are eligible to join the Honor Society once they have earned the required number of points. Additionally, members of the honor society are held to the society’s Code of Honor, the highest standards of integrity, humility, respect, leadership, and service. These standards have been required of members since the organization was founded in 1925. Battle Ground Academy has supported the arts of speech and debate for many years becoming a charter school member of the National Speech and Debate Association in 1971.
