BGA Latin Students Win Big at Midstate TJCL Remote Tournament
The Tennessee Junior Classical League’s annual mid-state tournament was held virtually this year, but that didn’t deter BGA’s Upper School Junior Classical League Latin Club members from competing at a high level. Every BGA student who competed in the tournament placed:
Caden Brousseau ‘23 earned two 4th place ribbons.
Andi Sanduski ‘23 earned one 3rd place and two 5th place ribbons.
William Watson ‘22 earned two 1st place, one 2nd, and one 3rd place ribbon.
Olivia Whitley ‘24 earned one 1st place, one 2nd place, and one 4th place ribbon.
The Junior Classical League Latin Club team is led by BGA Middle and Upper School Latin teacher Abram Ring, Ph.D. The club is open to current Latin students and students who have previously had two years of the language. JCL supports the interdisciplinary study of Greek and Latin language and Greek and Roman culture and competes at state and regional conventions in academic, arts, and athletic events.
