BGA vs Zion Christian Academy
Monday, September 14
BGA took to the road this evening to face the Eagles at Zion Christian Academy. In typical Monday fashion, it took the Wildcats a little time to settle into a rhythm of play. It was Cat Schreiber '23 who netted the first goal for BGA in the 14th minute, as she pounced on a loose ball in the Eagle's box. Six minutes later, in the 20th minute, Cat Schreiber '23 connected with teammate Kennedy Price '22, who buried a shot from outside the penalty box. Movement off the ball and combination play from the Wildcats helped create the third goal for BGA. This time it was Sophia Donoghue '24, who made sure her first touch off the bench was a positive one. In fact, her first touch on the ball in the game was finishing a service from teammate Palmer Grace Snead '24. Just two short minutes later in the 32nd minute, Sarah May '21 battled for positioning on the back post to sneak in another BGA goal that was served up by Price. Price found herself serving up another BGA goal to a familiar goal scorer on the night, Donoghe, who scored another goal in the 34th minute. To finish out the half, Price ran down a long service from teammate Maddie Hill '24 to score her second goal of the game in the 40th minute, and to give BGA a 6-0 lead at half. Only 2 minutes ticked off the clock before BGA scored their seventh goal. The ball movement by BGA opened up several opportunities against the Eagles, but it was Keaton Mitchell '23 who converted in the 42nd minute from a Price pass. Scoring the games eighth and ninth goals was BGA's Sara Evans '21, who powered shots by the Zion goalkeeper in the 46th and 48th minute, assisting on both goals was Maddie Hill '24. BGA defeated Zion 9-0 to give the Wildcats a district record of 4-1-0.

Tuesday, September 15
The Wildcats traveled to Providence Christian Academy for another district showdown on a wonderful fall evening. With the feel of fall in the air, BGA displayed one of their best appearances of the season so far.  PCA presented a style of play that was new to the Wildcats this season, and it caught BGA committing multiple indirect kicks. But once the Wildcats figured out how to break down PCA's style of play, BGA was able to put on a clinic performance. The first goal of the game actually came quite early, as Kennedy Price '22 connected with Eva Schreiber '23 on a corner play. After that initial goal for BGA, PCA fell back into their game plan that held the scoreline steady at 1-0 for the next 36 minutes. Finally, in the 40th minute and just before half, Price placed a shot by the PCA goalkeeper with the help of Cat Schreiber '23. After halftime, BGA adapted to what PCA was presenting and took advantage of their game strategy weaknesses. Taking full advantage early in the second half was BGA's Palmer Grace Snead '24, who netted BGA's third goal of the game after Keaton Mitchell '23 fed her a brilliant diagonal ball into her running path. Seven minutes later, again four minutes later, and then two minutes after that Price scored goals number 4 (50th min), 5 (54th min), and 6 (56th min) for BGA, which came off the services from teammates Snead, Sarah May '21, and Eva Schreiber '23 respectively. Scoring BGA's final goal in the 67th minute was Bella Bugg '23, who timed her run perfectly to the end of Sarah Evan's '21 service from the wing. PCA would go on to put 2 shots on goal, but they were easily gathered by BGA's goalkeeper, Beth Fleming '21. As the 7-0 victor of the game, BGA improved their district record to 5-1-0.

BGA vs St. Cecilia Academy
Thursday, September 17
After being on the road for four straight games, BGA was finally on their home turf as they played host to the Scarabs of St. Cecilia. As a Division II-AA school, SCA hasn't had many games under their belt this season. In fact, today's match was only their third game of the season, so they haven't played contact for very long at this point, which certainly gave BGA an edge in this match. The Wildcats came out strong scoring in the first 3 minutes of the game. BGA's Kennedy Price '22 netted the first (3rd minute) and second (13th minute) goals for BGA after receiving services from teammates Cat Schreiber '23 and Keaton Mitchell '23, respectively. A quick five minutes later, Price found teammate Eva Schreiber '23 on an overlapping run that resulted in a goal for Schreiber '23 and put BGA 3 goals ahead as they headed into halftime. The start of the second half looked very similar to the start of the game. The creative display of possession by the Wildcats caused chaos for the Scarab defense, who found themselves down 4 goals in the 48th minute, after Price scored her third goal of the match from another perfect service from Cat Schreiber. Three minutes later, BGA's Sara Evans '21 added to the scoreline, and this time it was Price who did the assisting. In the 53rd and 77th minutes Mitchell added to her goal stats after she put away services from teammates Price and Maddie Hill '24. BGA's Sophia Donoghue '24 (68th minute) and Cat Schreiber (78th minute) also had goals in this match, from Mitchell and Hill services. The game ended in the 78th minute with Cat Schreiber's goal. With a decidable 9-0 victory over the Division II-AA Scarabs of SCA, BGA improved their overall record to 8-2-1.
