The girls soccer team defeated Lipscomb Academy with a score of 6-1. After falling behind early in the first half, BGA answered soon after with a goal from Kennedy Price ‘22. From there the BGA Wildcats went on to control most of the possession, allowing only 1 shot on goal that half while tallying two more from Catherine Shreiber ‘23 and her sister Eva Shreiber ‘23, making the score at halftime 3-1.
BGA picked up where they left off in the second half, with Alyssa White ‘22 scoring a goal coming off a buildup, starting on one side of the field and switching twice before finally ending up in the back of the net. Possession fell in the favor of the Wildcats in the second half, and they finished by adding two more goals from freshman players Palmer Grace Sneed ‘24 and Maddie Hill ‘24 to total the 6 goals scored by BGA on the night.BGA vs Columbia AcademyTuesday, August 25
The girl’s soccer team topped Columbia Academy on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 10 goals to none. The BGA wildcats came out strong, scoring two early goals from Kennedy Price ‘22 and Eva Schreiber ‘23. After that, the goals came often with Alyssa White ‘22, Sarah May ‘21, Maddie Hill ‘24, and Sofia Donoghue ‘24 all adding their name to the score sheet. The Wildcats continued to possess the ball, moving it around the field before Catherine Schreiber ‘23 and Colby Davis ‘21 finished a goal each just before halftime, ending the game after the first 45 minutes.

After a 48-hour weather delay, the host Wildcats defeated TSSAA Division I Class 6A playoff contender, Wilson Central, by a score of 12-8. An outstanding defensive effort was led by Seniors Alex Krause ‘21, Max Sale ‘21, and Iman Lohrasbi ‘21. Offensively, the Wildcats scored on a 27-yard Brett Brown ‘22 pass to Daniel Morra ‘22 and a 57-yard touchdown run from Sean Williams ‘22. This coming week, the Wildcats will travel to Goodpasture Christian School for the first regional contest of the year. The Cougars are 2-0 on the year, having defeated Mt. Juliet Christian Academy and Nashville Christian School.
