Mitchell Morrison '20 Named Regional Finalist in Coca-Cola Scholars Program
BGA is proud to congratulate Mitchell Morrison '20 who was chosen as one of five Regional Finalists from Tennessee for the 2020 Class of Coca-Cola Scholars. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation offers college scholarships to exceptional high school students dedicated to leadership, service, and action that positively affect others.
“We believe that identifying these young leaders throughout the country and encouraging their passion for serving others not only empowers the students, but also lifts up those around them,” said Jane Hale Hopkins, President of the Foundation. “The Coca-Cola system is dedicated to giving back to the communities they serve, and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation is proud to be a part of that commitment.”
At BGA, Mitchell is a Board of Trustees Merit Scholar and holds membership in the academic society, DiGamma. He is a member of the National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta. As a senior, he has served as a Peer Leader and Vice President of BGA's Student Council. A graduate of Youth Leadership Franklin, Mitchell is Chapter Founder and President of BGA's Threads of Care and is a Board Member and Ambassador for Sister Cities of Nashville.
Mitchell was named a 2019 Congressional Award Gold Medal recipient representing Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District. He has extensive community engagement and has served as director of 1Team1Goal and as a one-on-one peer buddy and summer camp counselor with the YMCA Full Circle Program. A scholar-athlete, Mitchell is a 3-year member of BGA's varsity football team and has played varsity soccer since 8th grade.
Mitchell is the son of Jenn and Craig Morrison of Franklin.
