Harpeth Conservancy Film Festival to Showcase Films Created by BGA Students
Harpeth Conservancy, Battle Ground Academy's 2019 Institute of Emphasis, is hosting Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour at the historic Franklin Theater April 25. In addition to eight nationally selected films, the event includes student-created short films focusing on BGA’s partnership with Harpeth Conservancy to better the environment and campus, reduce waste, and improve the health of the river.
"It has been a true joy watching our students partner with the Harpeth Conservancy this year through BGA's Institute of Emphasis program,” said Tom Evans, Director of Advancement for BGA. “The Harpeth River borders our Lower School campus and is an essential component to one of our most treasured Upper School traditions - the Tug. To help take actionable steps that will make a global impact is a responsibility we are excited to help fulfill and these student-created films are just a small sample of what they have learned and accomplished," he said.
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is a great family event where people can learn more about how and why to protect our rivers and environments. Tickets can be purchased online for $10 in advance by going to www.harpethconservancy.org/events/wild-and-scenic or $12 the day of the event. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and shows start at 7 p.m.
