BGA Juniors Place First at Regional History Day; Four Advance to State
Congratulations to Betty Gong '20 (Individual Exhibit - "All Aboard from Asia to America: Chinese Immigrants and the First Transcontinental Railroad") and Ethan Awalt '20 (Individual Website - "Theodore Roosevelt and the Effort to Reform College Football") for winning first place at the 2019 Regional National History Day contest. These students competed against students from both public and private schools throughout the Middle Tennessee region to advance to the state competition in April.
In addition, George Gatterer '20 ("Battle of the Gunboats: The First Tripoli War") earned second place in the individual exhibit category and Amelia Reiss '20 earned second place in individual website ("The Tragedy of Smallpox") and will also advance to the state level competition.
Whit Bankemper '20 was also recognized with a third place award for his individual exhibit entitled "The Defense of Bastogne."
