Battle Ground Academy is closed Friday, April 19, in observance of Good Friday.  The offices will reopen and classes resume Monday, April 22.

Boys Basketball
BGA Defeats Zion Christian
Tuesday, January 29
The Wildcats had a convincing victory over Zion Christian winning 70-31.  Kenny Rawls '19 led the team with 14 points on 7 for 9 shooting from the field. Kaleb Seay '20 contributed 10 points and 4 assists, Calvin Quehl '20 scored 9 points and 8 rebounds, Nick Semptimphelter '20 had 9 points as well.

Wildcats Fall to CPA
Friday, February 1
The Wildcats battled all night but came up a little short in their Senior Night match with CPA .  Final score was 65-52.  Garnett Hollis, Jr. '20 led the team with 19 points, followed by Nick Semptimphelter '20 going 3 for 5 from the 3 point line and scoring 12 points.  Jo Cantrell '20 contributed 5 points and 5 rebounds, along with Tony Stevens '20 pulling in 5 rebounds as well.

BGA Wins First Round of District Tournament
Wednesday, February 6
The Wildcats defeated Zion Christian 77-31 achieving a first round district tournament victory.  This was a total team effort as everyone contributed on the offensive and defensive end of the floor. Jo Cantrell '20 led the team with 16 points, followed by Tony Stevens'20 scoring 13 points and bringing in 6 rebounds.  Kenny Rawls '19 had another strong night on the boards by pulling in 6 rebounds. Mitchell Petzelt '20 had 8 points and Calvin Quehl '20 had 7 points. The Wildcats play again Friday against The Webb School at 5:30 at CPA.

Lady Wildcats Fall to CPA
Monday, February 1
The Lady Wildcats lost to CPA 48-66. They were led in scoring by sophomore Kearstyn Seay (13 points) and senior Reagan DeSoto (9 points). The five seniors (Reagan DeSoto, Olivia Tutt, Ella Rose Gallimore, Elizabeth Ragsdale, and Kyah Keller) were recognized after the game during the Senior Night presentations.

February 2
BGA Defeats MTCS is First Round District Play
The Lady Wildcats took on MTCS at home for their first round of district tournament play. With a win of 65-58 they will play for a district title on February 8 at 4 p.m.  Their next game will be February 9 (time TBD). Congratulations to the Lady Wildcats who advance to the Regional Tournament beginning February 12.

Wrestling
BGA Wrestlers Advance to State Championship Tournament
Congratulations to Jack Revere '21, Dolan Eckhart '19 and Trace Alexander '22 or advancing to the 2019 TSSAA Division II State Championship Tournament. Revere placed 2nd losing a tight match to his CBHS opponent. Alexancer and Eckhart both won their consolation final matches placing third in the TSSAA Division II West Region Tournament. The tournament was held at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis Tennessee. Kevin Dennis '21, Charlie Park '21, and Iman Lohrasbi '21 all were one match away from reaching the qualifying round.

Swim
BGA Swimmers Compete at State Meet
February 9
Ally Solomon ‘21 proudly represented BGA at the Tennessee State Swimming and Diving Championship at the Tracy Caulkins Competition Pool in Nashville.  During preliminaries, Solomon placed 16th overall with a personal best time of 1:09.07 in the 100 yard Breaststroke race. This qualified her for the finals which took place in the evening. Solomon then swam a 1:08.08, dropping a whole second from her previous time and coming in 13th in the State overall. Please congratulate Solomon for this wonderful accomplishment.
