Charlotte Regul '19 Named Mary Campbell Easel Award Recipient
The BGA Visual Arts Departmenet is pleased to honor Charlotte Regul '19 with the 2018-2019 1st Quarter Mary Campbell Easel Award.
Charlotte has been a dedicated art student throughout her BGA career. She is currently developing her AP Studio Art portfolio and is serving as the leader of BGA’s Art Club. Her colored pencil drawing of origami cranes required great technical skill, vision and time. Prior to creating this work, Charlotte created actual origami cranes, hung them from string and photographed them with drapery. Her drawing is part of an ongoing exploration of Japanese culture through the manipulation of origami paper and their patterns. We are proud to recognize the skilled work Charlotte consistently produces, as well as the unique perspective in which she approached this drawing!
About the Mary Campbell Easel Award: Along with the gift of the Mary Campbell Visual Arts Center, Battle Ground Academy’s art department was also fortunate to receive several pieces of furniture and equipment from Mary Campbell’s studio. One of these was her easel. To honor Mary’s memory, it was decided that every quarter, the Visual Arts teachers would review the work of current students and choose a piece of art they feel exemplifies the qualities BGA students strive to achieve: creativity, effort, and quality. The chosen piece receives the Mary Campbell Easel Award and is displayed for the duration of the next quarter.
