Sophie Ketchum '22 to Vie for “Best Dancer of The Year"

BGA junior and member of The Artist Project dance company, Sophie Ketchum, was awarded a VIP Senior Dance Scholarship at Break the Floor Productions’ National Jump Dance Convention in Atlanta, Ga. This honor qualifies her to compete solo for “Female Best Dancer” at this summer’s Break the Floor Productions’ Dance Awards.
Now in her 14th year of dance, Sophie auditioned at the senior advanced level for dancers ages 16-19, with hundreds of the top dancers from around the country. As a VIP scholarship finalist, she’ll gather with other scholarship recipients from conventions across the country for a red carpet gala event, attend workshops, and compete for “Best Dancer of the Year” honors.
Sophie began her dance career at the Nashville Ballet before transitioning to competitive dance. She dances all genres of dance, but her favorite is contemporary commercial dance.
