Wagner Dudycha '30 and Keaton Mitchell '23 Receive Third Quarter Mary Campbell Easel Awards

The third quarter winners of the Junior Mary Campbell Easel Award and the Mary Campbell Easel Award are Wagner Dudycha '30 and Keaton Mitchell '23.

This is Dudycha's first year at BGA, and her winning piece is a duo of self portraits entitled, "Excited and Confused." She completed these pieces using graphite and watercolor paint, and the work is a study in facial proportions and emotion.

Mitchell has been at BGA since kindergarten, and her winning piece is a ceramic sculpture entitled, "Nike Jordan." For the last three years, Mitchell has been primarily creating 3D work in the BGA art program, and her focus has been on decorative and functional ceramics.

Both the Junior Mary Campbell Easel Award and Mary Campbell Easel Award were established to honor Mary Campbell's memory and her love of art. Each quarter, BGA art teachers review the work of current art students and choose a piece felt to exemplify the qualities BGA students strive to achieve: creativity, effort, and quality. The Junior award is displayed on an easel in the upper hallway of the Mary Campbell Visual Arts Center for the entire next quarter. The standard award for the Upper School is displayed on an easel in the front hallway of the Mary Campbell Visual Art Center for the entire next quarter.
