BELEAF WINS 2023 EL CAPSTONE PITCH

Congratulations to seniors MacKenzie Huntington, Isabelle Northam, Oliver Baker, and Sydney Carroll on winning this year's Entrepreneurial Leadership Capstone Pitch Competition!

This group of four won the pitch competition by presenting their business idea, BeLeaf. BeLeaf designed a disposable tampon, created from fibers from banana tree trunks, and it aims to help provide menstrual products for women around the world. For every two tampons sold, the company pledges to donate a tampon to women in need of menstrual products. The BeLeaf team won $1,000 in prize money for their venture.

Eight student teams pitched their ventures to a panel of four judges: Michael Bryant, CEO/Co-Founder of ARMS Cyber; Khrys Hatch, Senior Associate for Launch Tennessee; Kelly Mayes, Head of Brand Marketing at Alloy; and Stacie Pawlicki, Director at Vanderbilt University's Center for Entrepreneurship.
