Battle Ground Academy announces Jesse Underwood as the new Assistant Head of School for Advancement. Underwood replaces Tom Evans, who is pursuing new opportunities after a decade of service to the school.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jesse to the BGA family,” said Will Kesler, Head of School. “Our national search yielded a large pool of highly qualified candidates. Jesse's extensive fundraising background in higher education, community support, and healthcare stood out, making him the ideal candidate for the position.”
Underwood brings a wealth of experience, having successfully led fundraising at Grinnell College, where he led a $99 million campaign for a new athletic facility and expanded academic opportunities for students. His most recent role as the Director of Development, Marketing, & Volunteer Services at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City, Iowa, further underscores his commitment to making a meaningful impact on important community institutions.
A distinguished graduate with a bachelor's degree from Saint Ambrose University and a master's degree earned summa cum laude from Oklahoma State University, Underwood is well-equipped to contribute significantly to BGA’s continued advancement efforts, according to Kesler.
“I am honored to follow in Tom’s footsteps as the new Assistant Head for Advancement,” said Jesse. “I am looking forward to joining the BGA family and excited to collaborate in our collective journey of growth and impact, igniting the flames of philanthropy and ensuring the spirit of BGA continues to thrive for generations to come."
Underwood and his wife Jessica have three adult children.
