Obituary Policy
The BGA Office of Alumni Relations sends obituary announcements to alumni who were in the same class as the deceased, as well as alumni who were in the classes one year above and one year below the deceased. If the deceased had immediate family members who also attended BGA, the announcement is sent to classmates of the family member. We also send obituaries for deceased faculty and staff members. Special requests can be made to alumni@mybga.org for obituaries that may fall outside these groups.
In the case of a former faculty member, we send the announcement to all former faculty and alumni whose class years correspond with the deceased’s years of service. If a parent of an alumnus or alumna passes away, the announcement is sent to the classmates of the alumnus/a and those alumni one year above and one year below the child’s graduation year.
If an alumnus notifies us that a non-alumni sibling or spouse has passed, we will send an email notification to the alumni class year only.
