George Plaster '77 Inducted into Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame

Join us in congratulating BGA Alumni Hall of Fame member George Plaster '77 for his recent induction in the Tennessee Radio Hall of Fame, Class of 2022.

Plaster's broadcasting career spans 30+ years from play-by-play announcer for Vanderbilt Athletics, to hosting a sports talk radio show and a sports tv show.  For years, he was a staple in Nashville Sports Radio beginning at Supertalk 997 WTN, later moving to 104.5 The Zone (WGFX), 102.5 The Game WSM-AM, and now WNSR.

From 2006 - 2008 Plaster was named to the inaugural "Talkers Magazine" Talkers 250 list, highlighting the most influential talk radio hosts in America.

Plaster is also known for his charity work in Middle Tennessee, raising over $2 million for the Charles Davis Foundation from 1992-2012 with radiothons and dinners. He also created Plaster and friends Celebrity Bowling Night to benefit Last Minute Toy Store and the Martha O’Bryan Center. While George dominated the sports talk shows in Middle Tennessee, he also was quick to recognize talent and has given a start to many of the hosts heard now on sports radio.
