Athletic Roundup: Week of January 18
Girls Basketball 
MTCS
Thursday, January 21
The Wildcats traveled to MTCS on Thursday, January 21. BGA fell to MTCS 28-53. Sophomore Bella Bugg had a season high, putting up 10 points. Junior Graci Semptimphelter and senior Kearstyn Seay added 7. 
 
GCA
Friday, January 22
The Wildcats traveled to GCA on Friday, January 22. BGA fell to GCA earlier in the season but battled hard for the victory this time, winning 54-31. Senior Kearstyn Seay and senior Phoebe Proctor both put up 15 points. 
 
Boys Basketball

Thursday, January 21
The Wildcats won a tough one on the road 43-31. The Wildcats were led in scoring by junior Sean Williams, who had 18 points, 3 assists, and 4 rebounds. Senior Xavier Shaw added another 9 points along with 3 rebounds and 3 steals. Senior Jackson Brown added 3 assists and 2 steals.
 
GCA
Friday, January 22
The Wildcats lost a tough one on the road to Grace Christian. They lost 64-61. They were led in scoring by freshman Kavien Jones who had 24 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Sean Williams added another 16 points along with 3 assists. Senior Xavier Shaw added 11 points and 5 steals, while Jackson Brown added 10 rebounds and 4 assists to the effort.

Thursday, January 21
Quad Match Brentwood Academy, Franklin Road Academy, Goodpasture
The Battle Ground Academy wrestling team hosted Brentwood Academy, Franklin Road Academy, and Goodpasture at the BGA Cherry Sports Center. Wrestlers included 172-lb. senior Jack Revere, 182-lb. junior Miller Barnett, 195-lb. senior Iman Lohrasbi, and junior Lane Sutherland, who won all three of his matches vs. his opponents. All four wrestlers showed great grit throughout the evening as they led their team to win two out of the three matches. BGA defeated Franklin Road Academy and Goodpasture but fell short to Brentwood Academy. The Wildcat wrestling team is looking to take down Montgomery Bell Academy next.

MTWOA (Middle Tennessee Wrestling Officials Association) Grand Championship 
Saturday, January 23
Congratulations to 182-lb. sophomore Luke Sutherland and 220-lb. Freshman Jeremiah Rhames, who placed third in the 2021 MTWOA Grand Championship held at Nolensville High School! Also, congratulations to 145-lb. Freshman Carter Baumgartner, 152-lb. freshman Jack Henneberry, and 152-lb. freshman Ian Carlig who all won matches and accumulated team points. All of the Wildcat wrestlers did a great job finishing strong at the end of their matches.
