What Lies Beneath: The Civil War at Franklin and the Foundations of Battle Ground AcademyLocation: Williamson County Library
• Led by Rachael Finch MA, Civil War Research Historian, Middle Tennessee State University.
• We will start with the 20th century connection to the property by touching on the second BGA and then correlating back to the original site at Carter's Hill. We will discuss, briefly, the Battle of Franklin, and the evolution of Franklin and its relationship to BGA at Carter's Hill and the symbolic meaning behind the school on the battlefield until the turn of the 20th century.
• The tour should last approximately 45-60 mins.
